My first service learning hours started in California, the trip that we took in 2011.
It all started at the soup kitchen where us kids preped food for the homeless in down
town L.A.. The first day, the girls and I opened over 500 cans of peaches and dumped
them into big containers so we could serve them. The first day wasn't much, but the
most exciting part was taking an adventure around the block with Tanner, Jaarek and
Zyre.

We also got plenty of chances to have fun! Like on
the boardwalks at Venice Beach! There were awesome stores and tons of people.
Not to mention this was my very first time on the beach. It was pretty dang exciting. : )

All of the students that went to the Cali trip, in the
house that we stayed at in Orange County. The house was nice and Ricks brother and wife were very welcoming
to all of us crazy teenagers.
I remember at nights, we would wonder the streets and take adventures, which was really fun!!!!
All you really need to know is that we had a really bomb time
and got to do a lot of fun activies. The Holocaust Museum was
really interesting and I liked the opportunity to see the museum
because I probably would have never gone there without the school.
The trip was my very most favorite trip I had at Yampah It was pretty
eye opening to life because how crazy people live there life there. Some
people were just in the worst conditions at the soup kitchen. It made me
feel really happy that I have a pretty good life and live in a safe area.
Thank you Rick for the all around trip. I got to do alot of things for the very first time.
Like put my feet in the ocean, ride a rollercoaster, see the Hollywood sign, shop on Hollywood Blvd,
feed homeless, eat in and out burger, and pretty much the whole thing! Best trip ever! ! ! !
